As Father Rob went through the Christmas season, he spent a lot of time thinking about pain, frustration, and recovery.  This got him thinking a lot about Christmas and what the birth of Christ really means for us, in particular the question of how God feels about human suffering.

Fr. Rob thinks much of the consternation of the "Parable of the Dishonest Steward" is because readers tend to see parables in a pretty narrow paradigm of understanding.  Once that's gone, not only does the story make more sense, but it also opens up for us a message about another steward-related word: stewardship.
