The Gospel lesson for Christ the King Sunday features two thieves, each responding in their own way to the notion that the person being crucified with them was a sort of king.  How do their responses help us understand how we respond to the notion of Jesus as King, and on which side do we tend to fall?

Haggai is not the best known prophet of the Old Testament, nor is his work well known.  But his message to a despairing and depressed people returning from exile could hold some value for the Church today as they struggle with their own sense of lost glory.
